3 out of 5 stars Good, but lacking in parts   July 2, 2004

Overall, this book is good, especially if you are doing the GCSE Geography OCR Specification A course.

It has lots of things you need to get you through the course, with detailed case studies (which you will need to know in great detail if you wish to gain the higher marks) and lots of extra information.

However, some of the book appears slightly confused, and certain case studies are missing (noticeably, a case study on the effects of an earthquake - which actually was a question in my exam!!).

I also noticed that it does not go into great detail about different river features (ie. the formation of an ox bow lake) which also came up a few years ago. So it must be used with other resources aswell.

So, yes, this book is to be recommended, but must be used carefully. It should not be your only resource.

5 out of 5 stars This book is a geography GCSE essential   May 5, 2002

This book is like a lifeline to all Gcse geographers. it contains detailed information on the four Gcse specification A subjects. People and the physical world, People and places to live, People and their needs and people and the enviroment. Aswell as guidelines and practice questions to help you pass at the highest grade possible for Gcse geography. Personally i have used this book for many things. As a revison guide, For homework help, In the classroom and to look up generall facts about geography. this book also contains a list of keywords and their meenings not found in most geography textbooks. it is also recognised by the examining board OCR so it must be good. I would highly recomend this book as it is good for all abilitys at GCSE level and is well worth the price.
