 Great potential, Basic mistakes March 20, 2008

The package with this game is a very good one, all the tournaments, a career mode, reasonably graphics and a very thorough training program to get you up to speed. There is the ability to offload in the tackle, and its arcade style means its easy for anyone to play, even for those with no rugby knowledge.
However basic issues in the gameplay ruin it. The main one being it is nigh on impossible to make breaks. Especially with the fact defenders can tackle you from seemingly impossible positions. It means that an average score for me is 7-0 (Playing on the middle difficulty, on 7 minutes each way). Ive only conceded one try in about ten games, and scoring about one a game. Its something so basic, and I cant believe it wasnt picked up in testing, but its turned what really should be a great game, to a below average one.
