Excellent, the best Iron I have ever bought!! August 27, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
After owning various irons that came with good reputation but were absolutely rubbish, I bought this and my word!! This is fantastic!! The ceramic plate makes all the difference. The difference is so obvious when you use this to iron! It irons so smooth you think your shirts has come out of the dry cleaners. Easy to use and operate also for people like me who are not very good in ironing anyways!!
Excellent! August 25, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I purchased this iron when my old one broke one evening, I didn't have much time to search out the best one, so based on reviews this is the one I picked. I paid extra for 1st class postage, and I'm pleased to say I did recieve it the next day.
The iron itself is very robust. Excellent to look at, with a blue light that shines when it's on. There is a small jug with it which makes pouring water into it easier. I don't find it uses any more water than my previous Tefal iron. I am very happy with my purchase, I find ironing very easy with it, and the clothes I iron stay creaseless. The bedspread looked amazing after ironing with the Philips!! And I must give the 5 stars for beating Argos price by 20!! Excellent, highly recommended iron which has also won the 'Which?' best iron.

I Love it I Love it! At last an iron that actually works. I've had such a job trying to decide which iron to have. (so many to choose from) I sent for a Philips GC4310 which arrived with a european plug on. Why that was I have no idea! I've been trying to return it and what a trial! Anyway determined to not give up I sent for this iron. which arrived direct from Amazon really quickly. (2days). If you want an iron that has lots of steam and irons without any effort this is the one for you. Perfect!

After noting all the 5 star reviews I opted for the Philips Azur. On arrival my wife was keen to try it out and filled the iron with distilled water using the small container provided. This was somewhat messy as the water hole is quite small but after setting the steam to full, away she went. However, every time she placed the iron upright it made a really annoying `crackling' sound, which sounded like residual water being boiling on the heating element inside the iron. I contacted Philips who said it was a trait of the iron and not a fault !! I was very disappointed and have now set about returning the iron. If you enjoy Chinese torture and the constant sound of `Rice Crispies' then give it go. If not, then I suggest you select a different make.
Peace of mind for the forgetful..... August 19, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I purchased this iron from amazon back in June 2006.
The basics of why I think this iron is a great product are:-
1) the autoshut off feature - no more panicking after having left the house as to whether you've left the iron on! 2) the light indicator which indicates when the iron is switched on, or on autoshut off 3) good water capacity 4) Longer-than-usual lead length 5) Last but not least, performance in terms of getting creases out of clothes is superb.
It is a well-designed, non-stress inducing appliance. When my current iron breaks down due to old age I won't bother investigating other irons for purchase - I'll be buying another of these assuming still available.
Normally after using an appliance for a number of years, I fancy a change, so I can think of no better compliment to pay this product.
