First Cookery Book Purchase August 14, 2008 I've recently got back into the kitchen and decided to purchase this book after reading the good reviews and i'm happy that i did. Before the recipes, the girls guide us through the "big offenders" in food and introduce us to calorie counting. I'm now much more aware of looking at food packaging before buying them to see their calorie contents and i'm keeping an eye on what i eat now, which i feel healthier and better for. The recipes are easy to follow and simple to do and it just shows that you don't have to eat carrot sticks and discard desserts altogether - if you follow their advice, you can drop a dress side in a delicious way!
I bought this book very nievely, looked at it once the ingredients are to flouncy! July 18, 2008 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
The ingredience for the recipies are things that you wouldnt normally find in your cupboard so its too much hassle than its worth.
Beats any other diet recipe book hands down! June 22, 2008 I got this book for Christmas last year and am now going to purchase a copy for my Mum who I hope will enjoy it as much as I have. My boyfriend is in the kitchen cooking the fish pie as I type, he is adding a couple of boiled eggs and capers to the dish. We have nearly cooked our way through the entire book. I had a chocolate craving earlier this afternoon and made the delicious spiced hot chocolate. I don't think of it as a diet book, just a fantastic cook book which has simple and tasty recipes which don't take very long to prepare and cook.
A book you CAN use!! June 17, 2008 I had been trying to mix-up our culinary routine for a while and had tried lots of books, with little success, until this one! We hadnt actually seen the programme, but saw the reviews on Amazon and tried the book and love it! (I would actually say now that i have seen the programme i find the women a bit annoying - but i will let them of as the book is soo good.) We have cooked and tried nearly every recipe and apart from the rice noodles one, we have liked them all. We particularly love the carbanara, ceasar salad, coconut oatmeal, lebanese kebabs, burgers, potatoe skins, roast dinner, cooked breakfast etc etc....mmmmm *mouth watering just thinking about them!*
I would state that we have not lost weight while following this system (we have done breakfast, dinner and lunch recipes and exercised), but we havent gained any either. What we have achived is a varied diet, moving away from our weekly routine of stodgy spag bol and fatty sausages and mash etc etc with some really different yummy NON-DIET tasting food - and at the end day this is what we wanted.
LOVE THIS BOOK - buy it!!
great book, but best recipes are free from website! June 13, 2008 I wanted to buy this book as soon as I saw an episode of the TV series, and was not disappointed - no nonsense sensible advise cookbook with easy to follow recipes that actually turn out. My only addition to what has been said elsewhere is to go look at the C4 website and download some of the extra recipes available there - especially the cakes. I have made and adapted the lemon and almond cake - making it with hazelnut and orange as well and have to say it is a fabulous cake and not available in the book. Also there is another one for chocolate brownies with pumpkin - again exceptionally good and not in the book.
