The Best Diet Book out - Totally Life-changing October 2, 2008 No other book that I have ever read has had such an affect on my life. I have tried every single diet there is going to try to loose weight and have had absolutely no success. I was about to give up and accept that I would be over-weight forever, when I heard about Marisa's book. I read it in one-sitting and have never looked back. I have now lost four stone and have never felt so happy and energetic. Marisa's programme has transformed my relationship with food, this really works and I would recommend everybody to read it.

I bought this book in mid-March of this year, based on three things. Firstly, I saw the segment about Marisa on Supersize vs. Superskinny, secondly I read an article in Elle magazine where the reporter found it very successful and thirdly based on the strength of the reviews here on Amazon. Being a natural cynic, I wasn't very convinced that it would work and before i read it I actually didn't want to not want chocolate anymore (although now i've read it i know why that was!It was just the sugar high and comfort i sourced in sweet, sugary things especially that i craved, not actual chocolate itself). However when the book arrived I took a weekend to read and absorb it and do the exercises and begin listening to the cd. Within a month I was feeling SO MUCH better: i was no longer bingeing on stodge, wheat, dairy and sugar now didn't feature in my diet and i was actually in control of what i ate and how much of it. I have honestly not missed pastries, cereals, milk, cheese, sugary sweets, cake etc. as I no longer see them as a food option when i see them. I have attended birthday parties where it has just been so easy to (politely) refuse cake and biscuits in favour of a fruit salad and i don't feel akward doing so. I am now 2 1/2 stone lighter, with only 1/2 a stone left which i KNOW will go forever! :] Starting out as someone with a relatively small amount of weight to drop in the first place, compared to others who start with BMIs that put them in the very overweight or obese catagory, i am so pleased that i found this as it has given me the self confidence and motivation to do something about my weight before it ever spiralled out of control I would recommend this book to anybody with weight issues or food or eating problems without a second thought! I am so grateful i found it when i did, and i will update when i reach my body's ideal weight range!
Definately works! September 23, 2008 Having battled with weight control for many years and tried every diet there is, I was very sceptical about reading yet another book on the subject of weight control. However, 3 weeks on I have completely changed the way I think about food and how I eat. I have lost half a stone already without even trying, although it took me a week to wean myself off wheat and diary, but all my friends are telling how well I look and I definitely have more energy. This book is well written and easy to read.

I bought this book based on the positive reviews on Amazon, but was very disappointed. The book is patronising and treats the reader like a child. I'm not going to lose weight solely by thinking differently and giving up key nutrients found in things such as dairy, cereals, etc. If you're looking for advice on diets etc. then don't buy this book. In fact, unless you believe that writing lists and changing the names of foods so that your brain doesn't want them e.g. call bread 'glue' so you won't want to eat it - I think that the human brain is able to know the truth - then don't buy this book.

I bought this book nearly 2 weeks ago, and I have to say it is life changing. If you have a problem with food, emotional, overeating, comfort eating, any of these, this book is for you. I cannot begin to tell you how my life has changed due to reading this book. I have had a problem with food for all of my adult life. Diet after diet after diet, food has ruled my life, consistantly. And guess what, I have basically shed and gained the same weight over and over again. I was told about this book and went to the bookshop and looked at it, didnt want to do the exercises, didnt want to change what I was doing basically (ha, and she wonders why she couldnt get rid of the weight!!). Then I turned 40, read a bit more about the book, and with book tokens I had been given went and bought the book. I havent looked back. Food does now not rule my life. I am indifferent to it, and I have never been able to say that!! I have been tested to the limit, especially in past few days, hurt my back, (usually feel sorry for myself and "treat" myself), no, not this time. Relationship problems, comfort eat, no again!! Kids go to the takeaway and get my "fave" chips, I look at them while hungry, and again, no thanks, total indifference. If you never buy any other books GET this one. It is amazing, and the cd is sooo relaxing. Enjoy.
