A disappointing book, more concerned with showing you his portfolio and snaps of his girlfriends than in teaching you about the complex operational foibles of the D300.
Might suit someone who's just been given a D300 and hasn't got a clue how to take a photograph, but that's about it.
One star, and I give that grudgingly.

You might as well just read the manual which comes with the camera. I don't think this book is well written and compiled as some bullet pointed information seems to be under the wrong bullet point and some explanations, for example about polarising filters, are to put it charitably "confused". There is also a lot of repetition in the first half of the book. It gets one star for being cheap and giving a few valuable points of information.
Save your money read the user manual August 11, 2008 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
Save your money and read your manual. This book only briefly touches on the D300 and believe it or not the manual that comes with the D300 is a lot better written. The information in this book about the D300 is very basic, and you will pick up similar or better information by skim reading the user manual that comes with the D300. I gave the book 1 star because it is cheap and gives some basic photography tips.
