3 out of 5 stars why so many big words and not in a sans comic font ?   October 4, 2008
I was very sinical at first, saying things like, "next in the sersis "the gift of 2 broken legs"

I'm 28, found out i had the "gift" when i was 23 but have not looked at a solution to it since this year when my work have helped me out before then i just struggled.
i have enjoyed most of the 15 or so pages i have read, but like with other books in this Font it hurts my eyes. i know that for me reading in a sans comic font is better and the information slips in rather than having to concertrate. i just wondered why this was not written in that font as i have been told it is a good font for all dislexic people.
also there are many big words in there, words i never got the chance to learn at school.
the 8 traits was good. i dunno weather people who dont have dislexia experiance thoughts as reality i thought everyone did. maybe someone can fill me in. this books suggests its just us.

I would also like to knwo why on earth this is not in audio format....
SO on the whole some interesting and factual stuff but bloody hard for me to read.

5 out of 5 stars Why you should buy this book   March 4, 2006

This books is an absolute must for anyone who suffers from dyslexia, dyspraxia, dysculculia or related related conditions.

Through its pages it shows suffers that far from being a disability it is fact a gift. It gives a first hand account of how the author overcame his severe dyslexia, but also gives suffers practical information on how to overcome their condition, it also explains in a clear and concise way how their condition affects them and other people.

This book is useful for adults or children. For anyone wanting to know why they are dyslexic and how they can be helped, this is a very down to earth, commonsense book. Read it - you will not be disaapointed.

This is a really fantastic book covering dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADD. This book gives a valuble insight to the workings of the dyslexic mind, how to assess and identify problem areas in your child/friend/relative - it even has lesson ideas! The whole book is very optimistic and helpful.

I have Just recently found out im Dyslexic at the age of 25. I wanted to find out more so I bought this book. This Book is a Dyslexic friendly book which was easy for me to read and I related to it as it explained exactly the way i feel as a dyslexic. this is a good book for people to read who want to know about the subject and for teachers who are clueless about Dyslexia and need to find out about it.

5 out of 5 stars It illuminated what my daughter was experiencing   December 3, 2001

After shouting at my daughters school for 5 years and getting nowhere fast the gift was recommended by a friend - its the best book I've ever bought. Not only did it help me understand what my daughter was going through - it gave me detailed advice about how to help her through her nightmare.
